There are 12 bhavas / houses in a vedic horoscope and each house signifies some events of our life.

The 3rd bhava / house of the horoscope signify travelling as it is 12th house of 4th house and so it signify leaving home. When the the 3rd cuspal sublord signify 9 and 12th house then it signify travel / journey. When 12th cuspal sublord signify 3rd and 9th house then it signify abroad / foreign travel or very very far from birth place in his own country where the geographical conditions are different.

The signification of these houses promise travel in the destiny of the native having such signification in his horoscope.

Now one need to study the timing of the event when a native will make travel / journey. This is very important as the promise of an event in a horoscope need its activation by the planets signifying / supporting the same events and will activate the event in its mahadasha period only.
