This is indeed a nice question and astrologically if one do not consider any other parameters of vedic astrology then its YES it will affect money, food and family life altogether of a person.

But while reading a vedic horoscope one can not consider only one aspect of the astrology parameter and give judgement.

One need to study the whole horoscope taking all the 9 planets and parameters into consideration and then only deduce their judgment.

One need to understand that PEACE is what is very much needed for any individual and that is seen from the 4th cuspal sublord ( as per KP vedic astrology ).

Money that is wealth is not only seen from 2nd house but also seen from 6th , 8th and 11th house.

The 6th house is 12th house of 7th house and so its other’s loss and one’s profit, 8th house show sudden and unearned money for example house rent, life insurance money, inherit property, sudden income etc and 11th house is the house of wish fulfilment.

A 2nd house afflicted can have 12th house activated and its not loss but investments.

A 2nd house afflicted doesn’t mean that it will affect on the food and the person will always remain hungry. No, it will signify the food eating habit and it can also be eating good food but late due to heavy work schedule OR very fond of fast food or junk food or like odd combination of food eating habit like for example drinking coconut water mixed with coke drink and eating pizza with sambar.

So from this example one can see that the afflicted 2nd house doesn’t mean extreme negative to get scared.

One of the very very important point that the readers show understand is the activation period of the 2nd house. In vedic astrology the delivery of an event is seen from the study of the mahadasha and its sub and sub sub periods.

So Mahadasha period is very important for the activation of any event in the life of a person.

For example a person is not born alcoholic, but at certain period the person take up drinking alcohol. That is the period of activation for the person to become an alcoholic.

Another classic example is that a horoscope has Raj Yoga but still the person is poor, how ????? ha ha ha ha ha . . . . . Now you are itching your head. Ha ha ha . . . .

Its because the activation period might be during the childhood stage or during the last old age stage of his life. In both the stages a person cannot express his talent / caliber to earn money. In fact, they are dependent on other for their care.

So the 2nd house is afflicted does not that mean the persons money, food and family life altogether will be troublesome.
