MYTHS AND SOME MISCONCEPTIONS OF VEDIC ASTROLOGY
There are many myths in astrology and not to read own Janam kundli / horoscope is one of them.
In fact, for a Vedic astrology learner reading own horoscope will help him / her to learn more easily than by reading other’s horoscope.
Its because there is many information that others do not like to share with anyone and so corelating the event with the planets becomes difficult, but when it is own horoscope then learning is easier as one can corelate every secret of one’s life as per the planet and learn the relation more easily.
The native him / her self becomes living example for learning astrology.
There are many more myths / misconceptions in Vedic astrology and it is there form last many decades. Lets see them.
Myths of gemstone :
It is said the one should avoid or be very careful wearing a blue sapphire ring as it doesn’t suit everyone.
There are rules prescribed by the myths society that one should keep the blue sapphire under the pillow and sleep. If one gets bad dreams then they should avoid wearing it.
Another rule is to tie the blue sapphire on the upper arm wrapped in a small blue fabric or keep it in shirt pocket and keep as it is for 7 day and observe if any bad things are happens with the native or not. If nothing happens then the gemstone is suiting the native.
For yellow sapphire there is an understanding that this is a sattvic planet and so any one can wear it and it will cause no harm. Its absolutely rubbish, in fact if it signifies negative houses then it will intensify the negative results.
It is said by the myth society that a person having short temper and very often get annoyed should wear a pearl as it would cool his head. In reality if the moon is negatively placed in the horoscope and that person wears a pearl ring then he will experience hell in his life.
Another type of myth is cat crossing the road when one is walking or going. There is a thought that when one is going and a cat and that too if it is a black cat then it would create bad luck for the person and some untoward things will happen with him / her. People should wait for few minutes before walk back again.
There is a myth that when a crow comes flying and kiss one’s head then it is termed as bad omen and they should cancel their work on that day and postpone it as the work will not yield positive results on that day.
Another myth is of sneezing, if someone is moving out of home for a journey or some work and suddenly someone sneeze then its termed as an indication of negative results of their work. It is said that the person should wait for sometime and then proceed again.
There is no base in it but still these Myths are still believed by many in the society and thought it is never found in any books but still are known to many many people. It passes from one generation to next generation thru mouth-to-mouth publicity. It is really very difficult to break the taboo as even educated persons are also the prey of it.
