The definition of good and bad Rahu is not an easy and straight forward one. It is not only with rahu but also with any planets of our horoscope.

In general, we consider a planet as good when it is favoring us and not giving challenges in our life and giving results of our desire. This is a simple definition of a good planet of our horoscope.

Now one need to understand the nature of desire and define it.

The desire can be a good / positive or bad / negative kind. In both the kinds of desire when rahu is giving the results as per our desire we consider that rahu is good / strong / favourable.
