Pokeberries are found in grape-like clusters on tall perennials. But if one tries to eat this grape-lookalike fruit, will suffer serious health problem.

In the same way there is a huge difference between sapphire and citrine. One should not just go by its lookalike color.

The differences are stated below :

1. The chemical composition of both the gemstone is different.

2. The crystalline structure is different in both the gemstone.

3. The density of the gemstones different.

4. The refractive indexes of the gemstones are difference.

5. The hardness are different

6. Sapphire is costly

7. THE SPECTROSCOPY ANALYSIS OF BOTH THE GEMSTONE WILL DISPLAY A COMPLETE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM.

In gemstone market very often the citrine are sold as yellow sapphire of cheap quality as the prices are very low. It is difficult for an ordinary people to differentiate between the original yellow sapphire and citrine with naked eyes.

Only proper lab test can detect between an original yellow sapphire and a citrine.

There are people who recommend citrine as astrological remedy who can not afford to buy yellow sapphire and people with no knowledge finds it attractive as an alternate and very cheap gemstone buys it happily. ( I am not discussing if citrine works as an alternate of yellow sapphire or not and sticking to the question only ).

If lookalike matters then all superstars lookalike in the world would have made their fortunes and live a lavish happy life.

THE ORIGINAL QUALITY ONLY MATTERS

The Sapphire are really costly and not all people can afford to buy it and so people are easily duped with cheap lookalike citrine which is flooded in the gemstone market.
